Getting You Back On The Diamond And Improving Performance

Why Choose Diamond Performance?

Specialized Client-Centered Care

Just as you would go to a cardiac specialist for a heart problem, you should also have the opportunity to work with a specialist for your Physical Therapy and performance needs.

This is exactly what you are given here at Diamond Performance PT and Athletic Training, where you work 1-on-1 with a Sports Medicine clinician that specializes in baseball and softball related injuries, as well as performance.

Not Your Average Physical Therapy Session

What truly sets us apart from the competition is our ability to incorporate total body conditioning and rehabilitation during the treatment process. If we use our entire body to play a sport, why would we only focus on one joint that is injured if we want to return to play? Unlike other rehab centers, we have the priveledge of being able to still work on the performance capacity of other areas of the body while we rehabilitate the injured area so that once fully healed the body is ready for the demands of the sport once again.

We also have the ability to blend rehabilitation with baseball and softball activities, taking athletes through return to throw and return to hitting progressions, making sure athletes return to sport in the fastest and safest way possible.

3-in-1 service: Risk Of Injury Reduction, Rehabilitation, And Performance Enhancement

Unlike other clinics that only get to see you during the injury phase, we can work to reduce the risk of injuries from occurring in the first place, as well as improve performance.

I wear many hats, three of which are Athletic Trainer, Physical Therapist, and Strength and Conditioning Specialist. This means that wherever you are along the injury to performance continuum I can help progress you to the next level.

FAQ

  • I believe that each client that I see should get the best care possible only guided by what is most beneficial for the client. Unfortunately, many insurance providers only care about what is “medically necessary,” not what is paramount to the clients goals of returning to sport.

For this reason I do not accept insurance for Physical Therapy services. However, for some you can still use your FSA or HSA account to pay for PT services with myself as an out-of-network provider. Further information provided on the Services tab.

Athletic Training and Strength and Conditioning services are not covered by insurance in any setting, which means that an HSA or FSA cannot be used for these services.

  • Washington is a “direct access” state for Physical Therapy, which means you do not need any prescription or referral from a doctor to be seen. The same applies for the other services provided by Diamond Performance PT and Athletic Training.

  • For the initial evaluation all paperwork will be provided at the front desk and must be filled out prior to the start of the session.

***IMPORTANT*** If you are under the age of 18 your legal guardian must sign this paperwork either at the front desk day of evaluation, or you can print out and sign the documents at home from the forms tab under services.

I cannot work with any client until this paperwork is successfully completed.

  • Every client should bring all the information they can regarding their sport schedule, as well as current training program if applicable. I also heavily encourage all clients to bring their baseball/ softball equipment, as we may look at mechanics during evaluation, and will be progressing into sports activities through the rehabilitation process.

In addition, I encourage all clients to bring their phone as we may use it as tool for exercise prescription or performance evaluation.

  • All sessions including evaluations and treatments are 55 minutes total. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of your initial evaluation, and at least 5 minutes before the start of a standard treatment. All services including both Physical Therapy and Athletic Training are the same cost and session durations.

  • Based upon findings from the intial evaluation you will qualify for either Physical Therapy services or Athletic Training services, with Physical Therapy being for clients that are experiencing a higher degree of impairment from their complaints, while Athletic Training will be for lower degrees of impact on the client. The client may transition between these two services based on need and current presentation.

  • In this case, you will contact and schedule my services through HumNow and their team. However, the same rules will apply regarding need for paperwork to be filled out by you or a parent/ guardian prior to initial evaluation.

If you are accessing my services through your HumNow membership you will only be able to obtain Athletic Training services. If you are deemed to need Physical Therapy instead of Athletic Training, then you will need to receive services directly outside of your HumNow membership.

  • No, you do not need a HumNow membership to receive services from Diamond Performance PT and Athletic Training. However, HumNow does provide a membership package that includes access to their facility and services they provide, as well as access to a package of sessions with myself as an Athletic Trainer.

  • No, you do not need to be a baseball or softball athlete, or even an “athlete” at all. Although I do specialize in treating baseball and softball athletes of all levels, I believe that everyone is an athlete at heart. Everyone has goals that are special to them and deserve the best care available.
